There exists a great type of faith that has pretty much been lost to history even though you have probably read about it many times in the New Testament in another bible study on faith but it did not register in your mind as being something different. It is a type faith that is of extra special proportions. And what is the 4th type of faith? It is the Manifestation of Faith found within the Gift of Holy Spirit as revealed in 1 Cor 12:9 – “To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;”
The Manifestation of Faith is:
Having the confidence that what God has empowered
you to do will come to pass at your command.
There may or may not be any previous personal experience to rely on for your confidence and trust. God might also call upon you to do something that is beyond your natural human abilities. But God has supplied you with proof that you can do it to build your confidence and increase your believing. The proof is that there are documented examples in the Bible where others have believed in God and performed all kinds of miracles, therefore so can you.
For example, I can, under my own limited faith, operate certain manifestations of the holy spirit. I can speak in tongues, interpret tongues, prophecy, get word of knowledge, word of wisdom and discern spirits… all according to my own level of believing. But when God gives me a task to perform that he knows is beyond my own believing, He then supplies me with that extra boost to get the job done.
The Manifestation of Faith is that boost. It goes beyond your own personal believing; it goes beyond your five scenes, it’s supernatural, it’s like a holy spirit super charger. It is God amplifying your own believing to the proportions necessary in order to accomplish His work through you. Your own believing alone can not possibly equal God’s believing required to do His work. So he amplifies your believing to the levels needed in order to perform Godly tasks and other miracles beyond the realm of your own natural capabilities.
When performing a miracle I know I cannot do it in my own power; that power comes from God. Therefore, the only way I can heal someone, perform a miracle, cast out a devil spirit, or tell a storm to be calm or do anything supernatural that is beyond my control, I have to trust that when I command the miracle to come to pass through the gift of holy spirit, that it will by the power of God.

For this bible study on faith, we look to the biblical definition of this type of faith as found in Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
The word “faith” is the Greek word “Pistis” Pistis is a noun not a verb. It means assurance, belief, trust and confidence. In the New Testament, the word faith is derived from the Greek word πίστις (pistis) or from the verb πιστεύω (pisteuo), meaning "to trust, to have confidence, faithfulness, to be reliable, to assure".
…of things not seen (Greek word is “Blepó” to behold, look at, perceive mentally)” is used in Hebrews 11:17 “By faith, Noah, being warned about things not yet seen (blepó), moved with godly fear, prepared a ship for the saving of his house...” Noah never saw a flood before. In fact, he was land locked and the possibility of a flood was highly unlikely. But through faith in God he believed and built the ark.
Old Testament Examples of the Manifestation of Faith:
Moses brought water out of a rock by the Manifestation of Faith (Exod. 17:5 and 6). He could not do so by his own power, but God told him that if he struck the rock, water would come out. Moses trusted what God said. Under his own faith he walked over to the rock and hit it with his stick. He operated the Manifestation of Faith to believe that God will bring the water out of the rock.
Gideon defeated the Midianites by the Manifestation of Faith (Judg. 6:16), Elijah multiplied the oil and flour by the Manifestation of Faith (1 Kings 17:14-16), and all the other great miracles of the Bible were done by the Manifestation of Faith. For every manifestation of the spirit listed that we can do, there are multiple examples in the Old Testament and the New Testament showing who, what, where, why and how it was done.
When it comes to miracles and gifts of healings, we need the Manifestation of Faith because we cannot heal the sick nor do supernatural miracles by our own human power. We must operate the Manifestation of Faith to walk forward in trust and confidence that God will finish what He calls us forth to start.
